Cash's first dentist appointment

My baby boy is growing up so fast. He has been one little booger about brushing his teeth! I was trying all of these creative ideas to get him excited about it, but nothing would work so I decided it is time for a dentist appointment!!

We took him on Tuesday to Dr. Hollowell's office. I had been hyping him up about it all day letting him know how exciting it would be to get his teeth cleaned! He was beside him self with excitement as we arrived! Cash ran right thru the front door anticipating all the fun stuff he was about to do!

They call him back and he runs to the nurse smiling the whole way! She sits him in the big blue chair and begins to talk to him about everything in detail. Cash asked if mommy could sit beside him ( which made me feel good that he didn't ask Wes ) so ofcourse I ran to my baby's side! The nurse was amazing she made the whole experience so exciting for him by letting him feel all the tools and explaining what each one does! He gotta pick out his toothpaste which was birthday cake flavored! ( what kid wouldn't want birthday cake flavored toothpaste ) and proceeded to brush his teeth and clean them with water!

After all the cleaning Dr. Hollowell came in and talked to Cash about his teeth and then gave Cash his "Mater" toothbrush and a token to get a prize. Cash did an amazing job and now wants to brush his teeth twice a day with big kid toothpaste! I couldn't be prouder! We can't wait for our next appointment!!

The Pumpkin patch

So this past weekend we took Cash and Stella to the Pumpkin Patch in Clanton, Alabama. Stella slept the whole time but Cash had a blast! One of the little activities they had was a petting zoo and that was Cash's favorite! There was a leamer that did flips everytime Cash would ask it to flip that little thing would! It was so funny if I would have let him Cash would have taken that thing home!

Then it was time to go get our pumpkins Cash told us to get one for everybody so poor daddy had to carry 6 pumpkins back home so nobody was left out! My boy is so thoughtful!

After that fun filled afternoon we came home to carve all 6 of those pumpkins, Cash refused to stick his hand in the pumpkin to clean it out so which left Wes and I to do all the work! I'm so glad Cash enjoyed himself and we can't wait to go again next year!

Confessions of a Mother

We recently welcomed our 2nd child into the family, a little girl, Stella and boy is she precious! Thinking how grown up our son had become I knew he would take right to her but I was sadly mistaken he didn't want to have a single thing to do with her! He wouldn't talk to me for a week. The day we brought her home from the hospital he refused to come in the house because Stella was in there. My heart was broken! I felt Cash would never forgive me for having another baby.

He has finally after 6 weeks has started to warm up to her but we have a long road ahead of us I'm afraid! He completely regressed with potty training so now I have two in diapers and he has gotten in more trouble at school, like hitting kids and tearing things up ( what happens to my sweet boy? Please come back ) he has also gotten more demanding. He is constantly " Mama do this, Mama do that" (" I don't care if your holding the baby or not or if the baby is hanging upside down not breathing you talk to me and do what I want first") I feel bad but he has had to learn to wait that baby can't do anything for herself do we have to help her.

So my advice is ease the older one into big sibling hood slowly! By maybe letting them tickle baby's feet or helping you burp them ( gently ) we still have a long way to go but I know we will get there! ( let's hope sooner or later or mom might book her a trip to the Bahamas and never look back and see how daddy handles things for a while )

Salon Life

Finally started back to work after being on Maternity leave. You don't realize how much you miss adult conversation until you have been cooped up in your house for 7 weeks doing nothing but taking care of baby and watching t.v.

I feel like I'm finally back in the loop of all things work and so glad to get my hands in some hair! So glad to get back in the gossip as well. I have gotten tickled at some of my clients who literally have not gotten their hair done since I left for maternity leave because they're too afraid someone will ruin it. Makes me feel good!

So on that note thank goodness for jobs that you look forward to going back to and such wonderful girls I work with that make it so enjoyable for me that I don't miss my kids all day!
